I’M BACK!!! (…not really)

Believe it or not, I had something really epic planned for my return to blogging.

#NailedIt

#Not

Yeah, yeah. Hello to you too. I’m late. Whoops. If it’s any consolation, I missed you guys during my hiatus. And I’m sure you missed me too, right?

*crazed eyeballs* Right?

Sadly, my return can’t be punctuated with glitter and adoring speeches, because I come bearing disappointment and sorrow in my wake. We all know that I had the time of my life scaring my followers out of their wits with that last blog post, the one where I nearly convinced everyone I was leaving forever. But this time, it’s not a trick.

Yeah.

That month away from blogging was good for many things, but it also brought me to a sad conclusion about the future. Once again, I’ve been brought face to face with tough choices about my life and my writing, and though I can joyfully say that I’ve come out on top of those struggles, some things must be sacrificed in the process. And so I’m here, my friends, to tell you that I am…

Not leaving forever.

If you actually fell for that trick AGAIN, then you need help.

Anyway.

While I’m not leaving forever, I will be gone for another month. The reason behind this is two-fold:

1.) I don’t have TIME.

In case you missed my latest newsletter, I’ll fill you in:

My family is moving.

And while it’s an amazing adventure and I’m having the time of my life, I’m also tired and cranky and constantly stuck in a car with no a/c in 90 degree heat traveling 8-10 hours depending on how many bathroom breaks it takes us to get to Michigan, and no, for your information, I’m not having the time of my life.

The point being, I don’t have time to blog. For the moment, at least.

2.) God slipped into the picture again.

God and I have a love-hate relationship over my writing. (I think that’s the case with most of us authors…) And when I started my hiatus, I told God that at the end of it, I would reevaluate what direction He was leading me with my writing.

Then July finally came.

As far as Aeterna was concerned, I felt great. My blog, on the other hand… not so much. There was just something… off about it. For some reason, going back to it didn’t feel right.

I’ve been desperately fighting the niggling voice in my head. I hate inconsistency, and I don’t want to be that kind of blogger myself. But something I’ve learned over the last few years is that it’s futile fighting with God.

Fun Fact: He always wins. But whether you’re miserable in the process or not is up to you.

So yeah. God has blessed me with a great blog and pretty neat bunch of followers, and I think He has cool things in store for this place. But at the moment, He’s saying wait.

So I am.

All that to say… SEE YA IN AUGUST, MY DUCKLINGS!!! Don’t forget me (because I’m coming back, you know), hang in there just a little while longer, and above all, DON’T LET THE HEAT SWALLOW YOU WHOLE.

*salutes*

~Sarah

  1. *grins* HEY WELCOME BACK
    *reads blog post* …oh.
*grins anyway* Well then, it’s on to new adventures for you! Not moving anywhere near Indiana, are you? 🙂
Also, I did sign up for your newsletter, but I haven’t received any… maybe I’ll just try again.
Technology is not my friend lately. 😛

    1. THANKS!! …and sorry.

And… kind of? We’re moving to Michigan, and that’s at least closer to Indiana than where we are now. I’ll wave to all you Indianians every time we drive past.

(Hmm, that’s weird. I checked over my mailchimp list, and you’re not on it. But I just got a notification of your recent subscription, so… hopefully it will work now? I’ve been having some weird problems with this thing lately. I don’t think it likes me.)

  2. Oh Sarah… I need help I guess (if you don’t get it YOU need help 😜😂)
I recently had a life upheaving move myself that messed my writing and blogging up, so I more than understand.
    See …or read ya later!

  3. “He always wins. But whether your miserable in the process or not is up to you” << So true 😀 Have a good extended hiatus. Hopefully we'll see you when you return! Farewell 🙂
(also good job for listening to God and obeying his prompting without being miserable!)

    1. Yup, I think people would be a lot happier if they didn’t hold on to themselves so much. *ignores her vast hypocrisy in that statement* See you soon!

(Eheheh… *doesn’t mention all the agony of getting to this point*)

Also… IS THAT A LES MISERABLES QUOTE IN YOUR GRAVATAR IMAGE??

  5. Evil person. *glares* You nearly scared me.
Nearly. I wasn’t scared, not really. *shakes head in denial* Just a little… excited. *nods enthusiastically*
Anyhow,(ignore above comments) I am happy to hear you’re not abandoning me into a lonely blogosphere of few and far between INTJs. That, my dear, would be tragic. (So do ever break my poor, emotionally confused INTJ heart like that)
I will see you in August, mon amie. *salutes*
